Quantum Monte Carlo study of an anharmonic Holstein model

چکیده
We study the effects of anharmonicity on physics Holstein model, which describes coupling itinerant fermions and localized quantum phonons, by introducing a quartic term in phonon potential energy. find that presence this anharmonic reduces extent charge density wave phase (CDW) at half-filling as well transition temperature to phase. Doping away from half-filling, we observe first order between CDW homogeneous is also present harmonic model. In addition, evolution superconducting susceptibility doped region show can enhance response.

متن کاملQuantum monte carlo study of the retinal minimal model C5H6NH2+
In this work, we study the electronic and geometrical properties of the ground state of the Retinal Minimal Model C(5)H(6)NH(2)(+) using the variational Monte Carlo (VMC) method by means of the Jastrow antisymmetrized geminal power (JAGP) wavefunction. A full optimization of all wavefunction parameters, including coefficients, and exponents of the atomic basis, has been achieved, giving converg...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo study of disordered fermions
We study a strongly correlated fermionic model with attractive interactions in the presence of disorder in two spatial dimensions. Our model has been designed so that it can be solved using the recently discovered meron-cluster approach. Although the model is unconventional it has the same symmetries as the Hubbard model. Since the naive algorithm is inefficient, we develop an algorithm by comb...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo study of sodium
We report a variational and diffusion quantum Monte Carlo study of sodium. Pseudopotentials are used to represent the ion cores, and core-valence correlation effects are included by using a core polarization potential. When the core polarization potential is included we obtain an excellent value for the first ionization energy of the atom and a good value for the cohesive energy of the solid. V...
متن کاملAn Overview of Quantum Monte Carlo Methods
One does QMC for the same reason as one does classical simulations; there is no other method able to treat exactly the quantum many-body problem aside from the direct simulation method where electrons and ions are directly represented as particles, instead of as a “fluid” as is done in mean-field based methods. However, quantum systems are more difficult than classical systems because one does ...
